I am very excited because we are now just a month away from Stellar: An Out of This World Art Exhibit, to be held at Mother Earth Brewing at 204 Main St. in downtown Vista. This show is brought to you by the BACKFENCE Society.

LB Skate Art Show

My friends Tim and Carrie at LB Skate in Long Beach are throwing an art show on Saturday, April 14 at 7pm. A portion of all proceeds from this event will be donated to Autism in Long Beach.
If you are in the area come by and check out the show. I will be displaying some new work, along with some other talented folks. I will also have prayer candles for sale at this event for $10.

Peonies for Alyse

Alyse came in a few weeks ago wanting to cover the tattoo that had been started on her back. She was unhappy with the quality and ready to see it go. Originally the tattoo was supposed to be a branch with cherry blossoms, but the "artist" took some liberties with her skin and went in his own direction.
I suggested covering the old tattoo with peony flowers because they can have a deep color scheme and they have so many petals it makes a great choice for a cover-up.

The imagery comes from one of my favorite reference books, The Flowers and Bird Paintings by Yu Chung-Lin. Peony flowers are a symbol of good fortune, riches, honor, nobility, romance and beauty.
